Meeting called to order at 7:35 pm by Vice President Gary Chave. Pledge allegiance to the flag opened the meeting.

Welcome to our meeting Captain Tim Duffy, newly appointed to Avon DEC. New Changes to DEC across the board. Captain Duffy started in his career with the NY State in 1983.1988 DEC in Long Island and now it has brought him to this region. This evening he covered Chronic Wasting Disease, Fish and Wildlife, Hunting Deer Season. Starting this hunting season more check points for .C.W.D. DEC will be checking out more meat lockers for venison processing. Pointed out that if you see men in White Suits, it is not a biological threat, it is to protect these Inspectors against the threat against rabies. It has been recommended that all hunters that process their own meat to debone all venison and do not grindany bones or cartilage. This is for everyone's safety. More information will be coming out.

Secretary Report:

Secretary Report reviewed. Motion made to accept minutes. Motion carried.

Treasurer Report:

Mark White gave a detailed report on all accounts.

Discussion on money in checking account and to move money into an account with higher earning potential.

3 Clubs have not paid their dues as of this evening. F.L.

Chapter Trout Unlimited, F.L. Sports-O-Rama, Seneca Schuyler Wildlife Management Inc. These clubs will be sent a reminder letter.

Reimbursement for Gary Chave for attending NYSCC.

Correspondences:

Campers to DEC Camp:

F.L. Conservation Club sent two youths to DEC Camp.

Motion made to reimburse them for $250.00. Motion carried .

Scholarship Award:

Scholarship awarded over summer to College Freshman. He obtained a 4.0 Average and was heading toward a career in Forestry. Through his freshman year he decided to change his degree and he will start to pursue a career toward Environmental Conservation Officer. The Federation wishes him all the best in pursing his new career.

MacDougall Sportsmen's Club:

Hunting and Fishing Day:

MacDougall held their annual Hunting and Fishing Day on September 17th. Rainy weather discouraged the morning activities but, things picked up in the afternoon. Kids and adults participated in target shooting, bow and arrow activities sponsored by 10 Point Archery and Buckskin Bowmen and President Phil Jensen was on hand all day. Also enjoyed a presentation by the Long Riders Shooting Demonstration. They were all dressed in authentic western outfits. Asked for donation to offset cost of expenses.

Motion made to donated $100.00. Motion accepted. Motion carried.

S.C.O.P.E.

Ken Madison, President of Scope is wondering if a membership would like to be started in Seneca County? The Federation is a subscriber to the magazine. All clubs asked to talk about this and discussion will be brought up at next meeting.

Old Business:

Dues:

Increasing dues had been discussed at the last meeting. One discussion was to increase dues on a percentage basis. No agreement or disagreement could be reached. Motion made to members to discuss at their clubs and bring discussion back to next meeting.

Seneca Army Depot:

Much talk about the old Seneca Army Depot, Hunting, when the land will be turned over to the counties, etc. Discussion on civilian personnel working on site around depot and hunters hunting to close to them, etc. Who will be taking them around during hunting season and who is responsible for keeping hunters away from Administration Building still occupied by Army Civilian Personnel? Another question: Who will post the land that is to be hunted on?

Discussion on Erin Crotty's visit to the depot. What her report will be entail and what her response will be?

Between the Lakes Friends of NRA:

New Business:

NYSCC:

Main Issues: Asking that people please refrain from feeding the Waterfowl.

Waterfowl are developing Duck Itch.

NYSCC holding a Ticket Raffle. $100.00 ticket. Motion made to buy 1 ticket.

Council voted in a new President. Harold Palmer. Gary Chave voted in as 2nd Vice President. Congratulations.

Have you bought your Habitat Stamp? It's not too late. License vendors should still keep pushing it. All the money from the Habitat Stamp goes into the Conservation Fund.

New reality show may be coming to New York State. Outdoors New York will be broadcasted on PBS. More information when it becomes available.

Seneca White Deer, Inc.

Gary Chave and Ron White talked about Seneca White Deer and their plans for the future. Meeting with Sportsmen's Clubs, using Bill Boards thru out the county, ads in magazines, etc. Need more capital to continue to run advertisements. Motion made to donate $600.00. Motion carried.

Seneca White Deer will be making a presentation to the Federation at the October meeting at Rumseyville.

Motion to adjourn meeting. Motion carried.
