General Meeting

Canoga Springs Rod & Gun, FL Chapter Trout, FL Sports-O-Rama, Interlaken Sportsmen, Lodi Rod & Gun, North Seneca, Rumseyville, Seneca Schuyler Wildlife.

     Meeting called to order by Vice President Gary at 7:30 pm. Pledge Allegiance to the flag opened the meeting.

Minutes:  Report reviewed.  Noted that the Conservation Scholarship Award was not mentioned to be renamed the         C. Scott Sampson Conservation Scholarship Award for deserving graduating senior.  Duly noted.  Motion made to accept minutes. Motion carried.

Treasurer:  Treasurer John Andrews gave a detailed report on all accounts on hand.  Banquet and Dues money are beginning to come in.

     Dues received from: FL Conservation Club and Waterloo Rifle & Pistol Club.

Correspondence:

Rogers Pocket Dictionary:

     2006 Rogers Pocket Dictionary form for all Assemblymen, Senators and Congress offices is available.  Motion made to purchase 12 of them.  Motion carried.

Mark White, Gary Chave and other NYSCC Members received letters from a NYSCC group affiliate from Suffix County.  Letter discussed at meeting.  More info when it becomes available.

NYS Conservation Council:

     N.Y.S.C.C. presents Grass Roots Connection Saturday March 4th at Falcon Sportsmen’s Club in Auburn 10 am – 1 pm.  Free to everyone.  If you would like to attend please call 252-1321 or nyscc7@bci.net  would like a head count to provide enough materials and refreshments for all.

Waterloo Rifle & Pistol:

Shooting Schedule:

     2006 Action and Shooting Schedule for their club from May to November.  See enclosed flier.

NYSCC Spring Convention and March on Albany:

     This year’s convention will be on March 12 -14. March on Albany will be on Tuesday March 12th.  Bus ride leaves Syracuse at 6:00 am.  If you would like to attend call Gary Chave at 315-539-8210.  Convention will be attended by Gary Chave and Barb Wells. Motion made to pay for rooms and attendance to conference.  Motion carried.

Seneca White Deer:   No report.

Committee Reports:

Annual Banquet:

      This year we will be honoring our own Vice President Gary Chave.  Dinner tickets and Raffle Tickets are available and will be sent to every club.  Dinner Tickets: $15.00 and Raffle Tickets: 1 for $3.00, 2 for $5.00, 10 for $10.00.  Great Raffle Prizes this year. 

Banquet Advertisement money is slowly coming in.

F.W.M.A.:

     John Andrews gave an in depth report on the following:

Fishing on St. Lawrence

Hunting Infraction Tickets

Private Wood Lot Management

Coyote Study throughout the State

Deer Management Permits

Deer Population graph shown coinciding with the winter weather conditions.

Old Business:

Ontario County:

     Ontario County Federation has disbanded but, the clubs are still having meetings.  Will meeting with their representatives and discuss if they want to join our federation. This has been an on going discussion for 2 years or more.  Motion made to write a letter to Ontario County Clubs.  Motion carried.

Seneca Schuyler Wildlife Management:

     Has met with some opposition in the past with Hector and Seneca National Forest. Gary Chave called Ted Barrien.  Gary talked with Michael Liu, new manager. More info when it becomes available. 

New Business:

Youth Fishing Derby:

      FL Conservation Club is sponsoring the 3rd Annual Fishing Derby at Oak Island on June 24th Free Fishing Day through out NY State. Motion made to donate $125.00. Motion carried.

Ethanol Plant: Discussed.

RJG Property:

     Property on 96A discussed. This has been a long standing issue with the federation. Gary will talk to John Sipos about this issue. 

Motion made to adjourn meeting.  Motion carried.

Next Meeting:  North Seneca Sportsmen’s March 21, 2006 at 7:30 pm. Banquet Committee will meet at 6:45 pm.
