General Meeting
South Seneca Sportsmen’s Club
18 Members representing 11 Clubs
Clubs not in attendance: Barge Canal Bassmasters, Buckskin Bowmen, Finger Lakes Chapter Trout, Finger Lakes Sports, North Seneca.
Meeting called to order by President John Sipos. Pledge allegiance to the flag and a moment of silence honored before meeting started.
Secretary’s Report:
Minutes reviewed. Corrections on graduating Senior Tom Grasek Jr., recipient of the 2006 Senior Scholarship. He is working with a company called Americore Serve Alaska. A version of the Conservation Core. Will be learning to be a Conservation Educator in Juno, Alaska. Good Luck Tom. Motion made to accept corrected minutes. Motion carried.
Treasurer’s Report:
John Andrews gave a detailed report on all accounts at hand and banquet accounts.
Old Business:
Discussion on Ethanol Plant in the township of Romulus. Motion made to table discussion until next meeting.
Committee Reports:
Banquet Committee:
Report given on banquet for the 19th. Plans are set and banquet is proceeding as planned.
FWMA:
John Andrews gave an extensive report on Scholastic Clay Targets for Youth, Coyote monitoring in Westchester County, DEC & DOT Boat Launch, and Habitat Project - Habitat Stamp for life, buying your license online or report your deer take during hunting season. Starting in 2008, you will be able to get your Duck Stamp electronically.
Hunting Back Tags: The color will be changing to Yellow and they will be easier to write on. Coming soon they will have Youth Hunt season for Pheasant State Wide.
Salt Water Fishing: NYS may loose revenue for saltwater fishing. If state does not change the law for a Saltwater Fishing License, the Federal Government will make a Saltwater Fishing license mandatory by 2011. That means NY State will loose potential revenue.
Ed Mitchell: Seneca County Federation committee met to discuss a Wildlife Management Plan on the old Seneca Army Depot Land.
Bill Dadson: There is a Bill going through the Senate and Assembly to give sportsmen’s clubs a tax break. Clubs that are not – profit Corporation could benefit from this. More info as it comes available.
New Business:
South Seneca Youth Fishing Trip:
Youth group for South Seneca will be going on their Annual Fishing trip to Wellsly Island for Bull Heads. Motion made to donation for $150.00. Motion carried.
Finger Lakes National Forest:
Discussion on the Kids Fishing Derby in Hector. Have always donated to them in the past. Motion made to donate $200.00. Motion carried. Will contact Marjorie Tweesdale and find out the date.

Kuneytown Sportsmen’s Club:
Will be having their Bullhead Dinner’s starting April 27th. Only certified Bullheads will be served.
South Seneca Sportsmen’s Club:
Will be holding their Annual Don Macintosh Shoot on April 28th. There will be Chicken Bar-B-Que.
Annual Banquet: April 19, 2007
Approximately 120 people attended Thursday night’s banquet.
Emcee Wayne Brewer handled the evening events and we are happy he could honor us.
Dignitaries attending the banquet were: Assemblyman Brian Kolb arrived early, spoke and greeted everyone attending.
Supervisors: James Mooney, Robert Shipley Jr. and Joan Teichner. Also attending was District Attorney Richard Swinehart.
Our Region 8 DEC Encon Officers were able to attend: Captain Tim Duffy, Deiter Kramer and Scott Angotti. Also in attendance, Region 8.Mark Wasilco DEC Biologist.
Senator Nozzolio arrived after dinner and spoke to all in attendance. He gave a presentation on our honorees: John Sipos, John Andrews, Gary Chave, Ron Enslow and Art Hall. All five men were given State Senate Resolutions by the Senator on the Senate Floor in Albany. Thank You Senator Nozzolio for your generosity and past personal knowledge of are Federation leaders.

A big Thanks to South Seneca for Hosting our Banquet at your club. Everyone enjoyed an on site Steak Dinner cooked while we waited. Thanks Dave Hagadorn and the Kitchen Crew and youth members for their hard work.
