General Meeting

Waterloo Rifle and Pistol Club

11 members representing 9 Clubs.

Clubs not present:  Barge Canal, FL Chapter Trout,

FL Sports-O-Rama, Interlaken, Lodi, North Seneca,

Seneca Schuyler.

Guests:

Kevin Swartley: Empire Green Biofuels

     President John Sipos is recovering from Hernia Surgery. He is home and mending nicely.  We all hope he has a speedy recovery.

Meeting called to order by Vice President Gary Chave at 7:30 pm.  Meeting opened with pledge allegiance to the flag.

Minutes:

     Minutes reviewed. Motion made to accept. Motion carried.

Treasurer:

     John Andrews gave a detailed report on accounts. 

     Reported on Annual Banquet and still receiving advertisement money.  Motion made to accept. Motion carried.

Guest:

Empire Green Biofuel:

     Kevin Swartley invited to meeting to talk about Empire Green Biofuel, Cilion and Seneca County Industrial Development Agency.   Kevin reported that he has meet with Pat Jones from SCIDA and all that the Federation needs is to correspond with them and let them now we are interested as a group to have input for Seneca Sportsmen and what happens on the depot.  The other interested groups are DEC, NYSCC, Audubon Society, Seneca White Deer, and Ornithological Society

     Gary will contact President John Sipos and confer with him.

     All clubs will be notified and a vote will be taken at the June Meeting at Waterloo American Legion during out President and Vice President meeting and vote will be conveyed to the Seneca County IDA. and Pat Jones.

Correspondences:

S.C.O.P.E.

     Received letter that our membership is due.  Motion made to renew membership. Motion carried.

Canal Times Montezuma Wetlands Complex:

     Received their newsletter.

Custom Robotics Wildlife Inc.

      Received a postcard from their company.  They have numerous robotic wildlife available.  Turkeys, deer, antelope, bear, moose.

Cayuga Lake Watershed Network:

      Received their newsletter also letter for contribution.  Motion made to send letter to see what they have been doing.  Motion carried.

Cayuga County Federation: Received their newsletter.

Senator Nozzolio: Received an e-mail from his office to connect names with faces for the pictures they took at the banquet.

Seneca Meadows Landfill: Received an e-mail from them to help support them.  They are expanding and need a new application from the DEC.  Motion made to support them and go to meeting. Motion carried.

Guest:  DEC Officer Deiter Kraemer:

     Reporting from Region 8.  Director Sean Hannah has sent out letters that he is leaving his post at the end of the month.  No report on who will be taking his place. 

Certified Bait:  New regulations on fishing with certified bait.  There are 10 different diseases that can enter the lakes from bait that is not certified.  When a company sells bait they have to have it tested for disease so the infected diseases do not enter are lakes.  Biggest threat is called “Bloody Red Shrimp”.  This comes from ships after they release their ballast water.  This disease is already in Lake Ontario.

New Back Tags:  New tags will be yellow this year.

Resolutions:

     Resolutions are here and will be mailed to clubs that are not here tonight.  Clubs are to vote on them at their June meeting and will be discussed and voted on at the June Meeting at Waterloo American Legion.

Assembly Bill # 2663 and Senate Bill 526:

     These Bills will allow Real Property Tax Exemptions for all Rod and Gun Clubs that have property assessed between $100,000.00 and $500,000.00 Dollars.  You have to be a not-for-profit organization and have to be paying income tax to qualify for this program.  If you have any questions you can get a hold of me or Gary Chave so we can explain it better.

New Business:

President & Vice Presidents Dinner:

     President and Vice President’s Dinner will be held at the Waterloo American Legion on Tuesday June 19, 2007.  Dinner will start at 6:30 pm and meeting will begin after dinner.  All clubs can bring up to 5 delegates with them including the President and Vice President. 

South Seneca Sportsmen’s Club:

     Reported that the Youth Group went to Wellsly Island and caught 913 Bulls Head.  Great Job kids.

FL Conservation Club:

     Their Free Fishing Youth Day is on June 23, 2007. Pre Registration is from 9 am to 12 noon.  Please call Ed Mitchell at 315-651-4305.  Kids up to 12 yrs old can enter and Must Be Accompanied by an Adult or Guardian.  This is so permission slips can be signed.
