General Meeting
South Seneca Sportsmen’s Club
18 members representing 9 Clubs
Meeting called to order at 7:35pm by President Tom Mitchell Jr., Pledge allegiance to the flag opened the meeting.
Minutes:
Minutes read and reviewed. Motion made to accept. Motion carried.
Treasurer’s Report:
John Andrews gave an extensive report of accounts on hand. Motion made to accept. Motion carried.
Correspondences:
DEC Camps:
The following clubs have sent correspondences that they will be sending youths to camp: Finger Lakes Conservation Club, Rumseyville and MacDougall.
Banquet Committee:
The Banquet Books will be picked up Thursday morning. Prizes will include the Raffle Gun Drawings, Garmins GPS, Nikon Binoculars, $100.00 Cash, Chinese Auction Drawings and Special Drawings Prizes of donated prizes. Doors open at 6:00 pm and Prime Rib Dinner at 7:00 pm.
Finger Lakes National Forest:
Letter received from the Finger Lakes National Forest. The Youth fishing Derby is in May. They have renamed the Youth fishing program as Fisherman’s Friend. Motion made to donate $100.00 as we have done in the past. Motion carried.

Waterloo Rifle & Pistol:
Bill Dadson reported that the Waterloo R & P Club will be sponsoring NRA Women on Target on April 26th. Registration begins at 8 am. Programs include Gun Safety – refresher courses for parents and youths over 12 years old. Programs will be throughout the summer.
Bear Sittings:
Dieter Kraemer reported that the Black Bear has been active. Noted: Please take down your Bird Feeders as the bear will use them as a food source and will continue to visit as long as food is available. He is classified now as a nuisance Bear.
Junius Ponds:
Fishing:
Since the DEC has taken over the Ponds, fishing / hunting is strictly forbidden. The No Trespassing policy is to protect the unique area and the wildlife which calls this area home.

Reminders, if you hit a Deer or Turkey, call Law Enforcement to get a Tag.
Jack Lowery:
Barry’s Bait and Tackle has gone out of business and Jack has acquired new poles and equipment. If your organization needs some equipment, let Jack know.

Annual Banquet April 17, 2008 South Seneca Sportsmen’s Club:
114 Guests attended the Annual Banquet. Senator Nozzolio presented Jack Lowery – are honoree – with a Senate Resolution for his hard work with the Federation and his long Military Service Record. Attendees were treated to a Prime Rib Dinner which was delicious. We had a record number of Chinese Auction Raffles and also had Special Raffle Drawings consisting of a Bass Pro Elk Portrait, White Fawn Picture – Donated by Seneca White Deer – Owl Portrait – Frame Donated by Sherry’s Bear and Frame Shop, Picture Donated by Barb, Huge Wine Basket filled with Seneca County’s many wines and a Bass Pro Duffle Bag.
Thank you to everyone who attended and Thank you to Senator Nozzolio for his presentation to Jack. Attending also: Seneca County Manager Suzanne Sinclair, Supervisor David Kaiser, Supervisor David Dresser, Supervisor Lee Davidson and Sheriff Jack Stenberg. We hope they had an enjoyable evening. Thank You to our Banquet Committee Members: Ed Mitchell, Mark White, DeLoss Stuck, Bill Ryan, John Andrews, Bill Dadson, Kenny Poorman and Butch Wells. Your tireless efforts make our annual banquet a success every year.
