MacDougall Sportsmen’s Club
Annual Meeting

20 Members representing 10 Clubs

Vice President John Sipos opened meeting with pledge of allegiance to the flag at 7:00 pm.

Minutes:

Minutes reviewed.  Correction:  Dieter Kraemer noted that Pheasant season is already for two weeks.  Bill Dadson that he would like to see another week added on so that Seneca County had 3 weeks.  Motion made to accept.  Motion carried.

Treasurer’s Report:

Treasure John Andrews gave a detailed report of all accounts.  Dues from 2009: All Clubs are paid are paid except FL Sports-O-Rama and Joe Klue – Individual Member.  Motion made to accept.  Motion carried.  Noted that at time of writing this report, FL Sports-O-Rama have paid that dues for 2009.  Motion made to accept.  Motion carried.

Correspondences:

Seneca Shopper:

Information gathered about them doing some of our advertisements for the Annual Banquet.  They can cover a lot more businesses than we can.  Before we sign a contract with them, John Sipos will look over the contract.  Motion made to use them to get advertisements. Motion carried.

NYSCC:

Gary Chave discussed whether to remain part of the organization this year or to sit out a year.  Dues are $200.00 a year.  Discussed the use of their master list of clubs and members and who they would give a list of members to. Noted that we get legislative reports and Grass Roots News from them.  Ron Enslow noted that we do not have to send anyone to the Legislative Meetings or their Fall Conferences. Motion made to continue to be affiliated with the NYSCC.  One nay.  Motion carried.

FWMA:

No report.

Committee Report:

Finance Committee:

No report.

Banquet Committee:

The banquet committee would like to honor Dieter Kraemer this year.  Banquet will be on April 22nd at South Seneca Sportsmen’s Club. 

Raffle Tickets are being sent to all clubs. 

Banquet Committee will have a meeting as soon as I talk to Joan Hendrix from the Seneca Shopper.  John Andrews noted that Gun Raffle Money can be given to him anytime.

Outdoor Sportsmen’s Magazine:

Kenny Poorman brought a copy of the magazine and noted that there is an advertisement inside where they will put in an advertisement for your banquet.  Discussion of the article and Kenny will contact them for some information.

Old Business:

Conservation Alliance of New York – CANY

Gary Chave talked a little about them and what they have accomplished over the past few years.  Discussed whether we would want to join them.  Suggested that we table until we can get more information on their dues.  Dieter Kraemer and Steve Rondo noted that South Seneca donated money to them.

Seneca White Deer:

Ron Enslow informed membership that they will be putting in a proposal for Spring Tours and Habitat cleanup in February.

Motion made to accept nominating committee recommendations.  Motion carried.

New Business:

Ron Enslow reported on Yates County Opposing 11 Gun Bills that have been introduced into the legislation.  Noted they have a good communications with SCOPE. 

Canal Trail:

Noted that Canal Trail is proceeding as planned.  Discussion on Handicap access for boating launch site on the canal.  More discussion needed.

Howeland Island:

Bridge access is still not in the future.  Possibly getting 3 counties together (Seneca, Wayne and Cayuga), maybe a way of getting bridge access again.  More discussion needed.
