Kuneytown Sportsmen’s Club
General Meeting
14 Members representing 9 Clubs
Vice President Art Hall opened the meeting with pledge allegiance to the flag.
Minutes:
Minutes reviewed. Noted that the season for Pheasant in the minutes was incorrect, should be Turkey season.
Motion made to accept minutes with correction. Motion carried.
Treasurer’s Report:
John Andrews gave an extensive report on monies on hand. Dues money is coming. The following clubs have paid their dues: Finger Lakes Sports-O-Rama paid their 2009 & 2010 dues, MacDougall, SWD and Kuneytown. More dues came in and will be added to next month’s report. Motion made to accept. Motion carried.
Committee Reports:
Banquet Committee:
Kenny Poorman reported that the Annual Banquet can be put in the NY Sportsmen’s Magazine. He will contact them.
Will Contact Chris Kenyon to put banquet in the Finger Lakes Times.
Joan Hendrix contacted and the Seneca Shopper will get some advertisements for our banquet book.
Dinner Tickets passed out to the banquet committee members and will be sent to the all the clubs for sale. Dinner will be a Prime Rib Dinner at South Seneca on April 22, 2010.
Old Business:
Howeland Island:
The Bridge on to Howeland Island has been closed for sometime. Noted you can get there by foot on the Wayne County side. Need to look into access from Seneca County or Cayuga County side. Need to gather more information.
Correspondence:
Received a letter from Seneca White Deer thanking the Federation for their donation.
Waterloo Rifle & Pistol:
They want to have another garage gun supply sale at their club. Discussion on how other clubs may benefit from the sale. Noted that it would not be a gun sale. Noted that if clubs want to attend this they would have to find a bigger club to accommodate the sale items instead of Waterloo Rifle and Pistol.
White Deer:
DeLoss Stuck talked about the fate of the white deer on the outside of the Depot and what they could be looking at if Seneca County opts to take down the fence in certain areas.
Coast Guard Tower:
Noted that the Loran Coast Guard Tower stopped sending out signals on February 2nd and they are beginning to dismantle their equipment. Will inquire as to what will happen next.
Art Hall:
President Gary Chave and Vice President Art Hall have been talking about what the Federation needs for the future. They would like to have a speaker at every meeting. They would also like to start attending member clubs meetings to see what their needs are and what the Federation can do to help them. Art Hall will be speaking at the Finger Lake Conservation Club at their March 4th meeting. They would also like more information from the Finger Lakes Conservation Council on what they are doing.
FWMA:
John Andrews:
Region 8 DEC tested 52 antlerless deer for CWD.
4 hours spent in Letchworth State Park. Noted that 95% of the deer have twins and 60% are female.
Spoke on the Big Game Rifle Bill in Ontario County, South of Rt. 5 & 20.
Ontario County is trying to start up their Federation again. It has not officially disbanded.
Habitat Stamp is down $4,000.00 from last year.
License Sales are up with Firearms.
CFAB & DEC are looking at Howeland Island. DEC money has been cut from their Law Enforcement Budget. Noted Trespass complaints are up.
This has been the safest Hunting year on record and lowest in the United States.
The Pheasant soft release program has ended.
New Business:
DEC Camp:
Clubs looking to send their youth to DEC Camps. Contact Finger Lakes Sports-O-Rama at 315-789-8634. They are looking to see if they can sponsor youths that want to attend DEC Camp.

Kuneytown Sportsmen’s Clubs:

Presale Tickets only. NO TICKETS WILL BE SOLD AT THE DOOR.
MACDOUGALL SPORTSMEN’S CLUB:
Spring Shoot and Ham Raffle will be held on Saturday March 27th from 10am – 5 pm. Kids under 14 shoot free on designated targets w/ Adult supervision.
Next Meeting Will Be Held at the Seneca Lake Chamber of Commerce on March 16, 2010 at 7 pm. Host Club Finger Lake Sports – O – Rama. Guest Speaker will be Charlie Hancock – CFAB.
Continued Discussion on our Annual Banquet.
